About the Book

I’m very happy to announce that my book was released on January 22, 2020. It is part of the Anthropology of Language series at Oxford University Press, which is devoted to works focusing on linguistic practices as forms of social action. The book is based on ethnographic and linguistic research I conducted in Kandy, Sri Lanka during and after the civil war (2007–2008; 2011). It examines multilingual education and ethnic conflict through the lived experiences of Tamil-speaking minority youth.
